Is the Xtreme RoamForce really freestanding, or do I still need the poles?

It is genuinely freestanding in light to moderate wind — think a normal breezy afternoon, roughly up to 15–20 mph. The frame carries its own weight on the stainless pivot and reinforced arms. Once wind picks up, or if you are leaving camp for the day, drop the support poles and guy lines. That is not a workaround; it is how any large awning should be used in bad weather.

Does the silver coating really cool things down, or is that marketing?

It measurably drops the temperature underneath. On a full-sun day we see up to 8°C cooler air in the shaded zone compared to ambient. The reason is simple: the silver layer reflects most of the solar radiation before it turns into heat inside the fabric.

Will it fit my roof rack?

The Xtreme RoamForce ships with a universal heavy-duty bracket kit that mounts to almost every common platform — Rhino-Rack, Front Runner, ARB, and standard T-slot or round crossbars. If you are unsure, send us the rack model and vehicle and we will confirm the mount before you order.

How long does it actually take to open?

Under a minute, one person. Unclip the transit bag, swing the arms out, tension the fabric. Adding the LED loom and connecting power takes another 30 seconds if you want lights that evening.
